At SKINS, we know that one size doesnβt fit all. We take the sizing and fit of our garments seriously. We want to make sure you feel comfortable, and you get all the benefits of precise compression. We know that for athletes to perform at their best, they need to be comfortable. So we use body mass index (BMI) measurements to determine every individualβs best-sized garment. Using BMI measurements ensures both compression and comfort levels are optimised, however these are suggested guides, so read the below carefully to ensure you choose your correct size.
Forget your usual size.Β
Use our size guides to determine what fit, for what product, is best for you. Compression Sportswear is supposed to feel tight β probably tighter than anything youβve worn before unless youβre a frequent wearer of Shapewear. But even though theyβre tight, theyβre still meant to be comfortable and shouldnβtΒ pinchΒ orΒ restrictΒ your movement in any way.
Bordering two sizes?Β
Suppose when finding out your size from the guides below, you sit on the line between two sizes. If thatβs the case, we recommend choosing the smaller size forΒ tightsΒ if you have an athletic body type, otherwise choose the larger size. We always recommend choosing the larger size forΒ tops.
Choosing the right size for Compression Sportswear isΒ very important!
What about activewear?
You can be a little more relaxed about our activewear. Not because itβs not important but because size isnβt as critical to the garmentβs performance as it is for our Compression Sportswear. That being said, keep in mind that the range has an athletic cut for optimum comfort and minimal drag.
Received your SKINS and unsure how to wear them?
No, weβre not telling you how to dress, but due to our garmentsβ technical nature, getting them on for the first time may be a bit strange. You can check out our guide on how to put on and wear SKINS Compression SportswearΒ here.
Try them out
When you receive your SKINS, put them on and walk around in them for a little while (leave the tag on in case you do need to exchange them!). They will take some getting used to, but after about 10 minutes you shouldnβt notice that youβre wearing them. Hence, SKINS. Get it? To make sure theyβre not too big, do this simple little test; try to pull the fabric away from your skin. If it comes away easily and you can stretch it out a fair way from your body, theyβre likely to be too loose, and you should go down a size.
